Competitive calls are focused on imposed problems/opportunities identified by ESA. These calls are not permanently open. Instead, all proposals are received during a given period and are all assessed at the same time against one another.

Competitive calls are open for proposals from SMEs, non-SMEs and research institutes.

Available budget for competitive calls is dependent on the project and the type & size of the company.

Both feasibility studies and demonstrator projects fall within the scope of competitive calls.
